Agave — Menu Guide

By Firoz Khan · FK Digital Media

Agave Restaurant & Lounge is the signature eatery of Eldorado Hotel & Spa at 309 W San Francisco Street — and the home of what the hotel calls "Santa Fe's premier happy hour." The format is a New American lounge with a Southwestern tilt: shareable small plates, a margarita-forward bar, plus full breakfast and weekend brunch. It replaces The Old House, the hotel's former fine-dining room, which has closed. No Agave-specific chef is named publicly; the hotel's executive chef is Joshua Gomez. Everything is written in our own words.

Official prices (September 2026 era)

These are the restaurant's own figures from its official happy-hour menu PDF — September 2026 era, current:

  • Happy hour: cocktails $7–$8; small plates $8–$14.
  • Holiday events: Christmas Day prix fixe $75 per person + tax + 22% gratuity (official page, year unstated); Valentine's dinner $95 per person.

What we'd order

If we had one evening here, this is how we'd play it:

  • Time it right: arrive 4–6 PM Tuesday–Saturday for happy hour pricing.
  • The plates: the agave sliders and truffled steak frites — the two best values on the happy-hour menu.
  • The drink: the house margarita at $7, or the Desert Flame.

Planning your visit

  • Happy hour is the move: 4–6 PM Tue–Sat — the hotel's own claim is that it's Santa Fe's premier one.
  • Closed Sundays and Mondays for the lounge — plan evening visits Tue–Sat; breakfast runs weekdays.
  • The Old House is gone: the hotel's former fine-dining room has closed; Agave is the current signature — don't go looking for the old room.
