The Mansion Restaurant — Menu Guide

By Firoz Khan · FK Digital Media

The Mansion Restaurant is the dining room of Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek — the 1925 Italian Renaissance estate where the Rosewood hotel brand itself was born, and where a young Dean Fearing (now of Fearing's) built the reputation that made him the father of Southwestern cuisine. Opened in 1980, the restaurant earned OpenTable Icons badges for 2024, 2025, and 2026, and the hotel holds one Michelin Key (the Michelin's hotel award — not a restaurant star). Since a September 2024 menu revamp, the kitchen is led by executive chef Charles Olalia. Below is our independent walkthrough, written in our own words. Note: the restaurant does not publish official prices — we say so honestly below rather than guessing.

Menu highlights

Dish names below are from press coverage of chef Charles Olalia's menu (notably PaperCity, September 2024). The restaurant publishes no official prices:

  • Mansion Tortilla Soup — the signature, a ~40-year staple, now officially on the menu.
  • Squash blossom beignets; comté gougères — the opening bites.
  • Tuna cigars (bluefin tuna cylinders, avocado, yuzu aioli); scallop & hamachi aguachile; ahi tuna crudo.
  • Sweet corn tortellini (grana padano, chives, lemon porcini froth); lobster thermidor.
  • 8-oz Nebraska beef tenderloin; grilled prime ribeye with foie gras peppercorn sauce.
  • Discovery Tasting Menu — seven courses with wine pairing (foie gras, halibut, strawberry semifreddo among the courses); a five-course vegetarian tasting is also offered.

What about prices?

Honestly: the restaurant does not publish prices on its official site — and the official site's "View Menu" button currently resolves to an unrelated page, so there is no official menu to consult. Third-party listings (e.g. menuwithprice.com, date unknown, user-scraped — treat as unverified) have reported figures like a $115 tasting menu, $195/oz osetra caviar, and a $65 wine pairing, but we won't present those as current. What is verified: valet parking is $12 per vehicle (official Rosewood page, October 2026), and OpenTable lists the price tier as $50 and over. Call (214) 443-4747 for current pricing before booking a special occasion.

What we'd order

  • The history play: start with the Mansion Tortilla Soup — the dish that links this room to Dean Fearing's era.
  • The full experience: the seven-course Discovery Tasting Menu with wine pairing.
  • The steakhouse answer: the grilled prime ribeye with foie gras peppercorn sauce.
  • Stay late: live jazz in the Mansion Bar Thu–Sat nights.

Planning your visit

  • Call for prices: with no published menu prices, a quick call to (214) 443-4747 before a tasting-menu night avoids surprises.
  • The Fearing connection: Dean Fearing ran this kitchen for years — our Fearing's guide covers where he cooks now.
  • The estate: the 1925 mansion and its grounds are the birthplace of the Rosewood brand — worth arriving early to walk.
  • Valet: $12 per vehicle, per the official site.
