Adega at the Metropolitan at The 9 — Menu Guide
By Firoz Khan · FK Digital Media
Adega is the Mediterranean fine-dining restaurant inside the Metropolitan at The 9 at 2017 East 9th Street in downtown Cleveland. It built its reputation on seafood and a serious wine program — Cleveland Magazine gave it a Silver Spoon Award — and it remains one of the city's most-honored hotel dining rooms. Below is our independent walkthrough of the menu's shape, what to expect price-wise, and how to plan a visit. Everything is written in our own words; we are candid below about which price figures are current and which come from older published reviews.

The menu, by course
Adega's menu is built around the Mediterranean coast: fish and shellfish first, then pork, lamb, and beef, with olive oil, citrus, and herbs doing the heavy lifting. The dishes that recur across published reviews include a bouillabaisse, pan-roasted trout, pork tenderloin medallions, and an Iberico pork chop — a menu of European technique rather than Cleveland comfort.
Older published reviews put individual dish prices at roughly $27 for the trout, $28 for pork tenderloin medallions, $45 for the Iberico pork chop, and $52 for the bouillabaisse. We label these as dated because they come from earlier published reviews — the current menu's prices should be confirmed directly with the restaurant before you visit.
The wine program
Wine is half the reason to come. Adega earned a Wine Spectator award, and the tradition of half-price bottles on Mondays has made it a local ritual: dinner on a Monday is the savvy move if you're buying wine. Expect a list weighted toward Old World bottles that suit the Mediterranean menu.
What we'd order
If we had one meal here, this is how we'd play it:
- The signature: the bouillabaisse — it's the dish the restaurant's reputation rests on.
- The value play: the pork tenderloin medallions, historically the most reasonably priced entrée.
- The timing: go Monday, order the Iberico pork chop, and drink half-price wine with it.
Planning your visit
- Confirm current prices. We could not verify a current published menu — call the restaurant for today's figures before budgeting.
- Monday is the night if wine matters to you; it's the half-price-bottle tradition that locals plan around.
- Occasion dining: this is the special-occasion pick of downtown Cleveland — anniversaries, proposals, and client dinners.
About these prices
Dish prices above come from older published reviews and may have changed — we could not verify a current menu, so treat them as historical context, not current figures. Always confirm prices with the restaurant before visiting.
